  1. I agree completely. Sleep is very important for everybody, and for teenagers its hard to get good sleep. Young adults need around 10 hours of sleep every single night. It’s harder for teens to get this amount of sleep however due to Sports activities and school. http://www.webmd.com/sleep-disorders/features/important-sleep-habits

  3. This article helped me understand more about sleep and why it is important. I also learned about what sleep deprivation can do to your body. I looked at a different website to answer some of your questions. To get better sleep, you should set a bed time for yourself. By doing this, you will know how much sleep you get. Another thing that you could do is to wake up at the same time also. You also want to make sure that this happens during the weekend too. http://www.helpguide.org/articles/sleep/how-to-sleep-better.htm

  4. I find myself at night around 10pm-2am on the ground or my bed doing homework, and very tired. Most time I fall asleep on my homework and wake up late, because I didn’t set my alarm.. People have slower reations, because they are sluggis and tired. Start their homework earlier or get in a comfortable position and turn off their lights, be full- not hungry and just close your eyes. This link will tell you about how many people are sleep deprived which is 40 million. http://www.statisticbrain.com/sleeping-disorder-statistics/

  5. Sleep deprivation is common in school classrooms. Students will often finish homework late and lie in bed during the night for long periods of time on social networking sites. People of all ages with sleep deprivation are probably less aware of their surroundings even. They’re not focused or alert enough to understand their surroundings in everyday situations. 6. Getting sleep is a very essential thing. I further researched tips on how to get better sleep and just the basic back round of sleep. An average adult needs about eight hours of sleep a night to function well. You should set a regular bedtime wake up at the same time every day and make up for lost time with a nap. You must be careful about napping though, because it could worsen insomnia if it is a problem for you. Lack of sleep can give you fatigue it can also affect the performance at work or at school. It could also be linked to an increased risk of emotional problems such as depression, mania, or miscellaneous drug addiction problems. Many scientists believe that memory depends on sleep. Sleep deprivation affects children and adults differently. Adults slow down and children speed up. There are many more effects on our body from sleep deprivation, but this blog and my further research made me more aware of my sleeping habits.

  7. In an article I read, I learned that sleep deprivation reduces your daytime alertness by 32%. I also read that The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration estimates that each year drowsy driving is responsible for at least 100,000 automobile crashes, 71,000 injuries, and 1,550 fatalities. I also learned that untreated sleep disorders are associated with heart attacks, heart failures, strokes, obesity, and many other medical illnesses.
